Blessed Rain

Hi there.

I got the cherries grown in Yamagata from our chairman. They were so delicious. After eating a few, I felt so satisfied as they were so juicy, and each one was quite big. What I like about fruits is that they hydrate my body, and what’s more, they are tasty, especially when they are in season. Eating fruits can help us keep our bodies nourished and hydrated during this unbearably hot summer.

Blessed Rain

I wrote in the last blog, “the rainy season is over,” but last week, we had a typhoon and it had been raining. I was glad that plants and trees got enough water over the week since many of them were not able to store water during the rainy season this year. Heat can be a great enemy of plants as it can burn leaves and dry them out.

The tea garden in the photo gets hydrated, and the moss looks more beautiful with its green after rain. Every summer, the moss gets damaged by the heat, so I hope that the grow light and sprinkler will help the moss survive this year. Compared to previous years, the moss has been growing well so far, so I will take care of them to keep it healthy.

As Hiraki mentioned in his blog, I’d like to ask you to do the same. We probably need to water our gardens several times more than we think in summer. Please give plants as much water as you can in the morning and evening.

I welcome the rain in summer, as it will moisten the plants and trees for a short while. I wish the rainy season would return. Even if it rains, sometimes plants need more water to survive, so let's do our best to water plants this season!
