When I visited a customer, I got watermelon as a treat. It was exceptionally delicious. Sweet and water-rich, the watermelon was so refreshing and quenched my thirst. According to the calendar, it will soon be the first day of autumn. But it’s been extremely hot, over 35 degrees these days. Plants will dry out quickly in this heat. Some customers are also telling us that their plants look struggling. Anyway, Watering is the only way to survive a heat wave. Please give your plants a decent drink every day.

Plants are Thriving

The most vigorous growth of plants will be in the summer. In the summer, all plants are lush and full of life. Plants that have deep roots can survive with soil water and rainfall. On the other hand, in the limited space of a garden, overgrown plants can cause poor ventilation, besides a pest infestation. And these plants would keep spreading over neighbors' properties.

Some plants may have thin and burnt leaves after pruning in summer, or branches may grow back the same way after pruning. So, we understand that our customers want to keep their gardens vibrant for vacations, especially during the Obon season.

The photo above is of a garden at a temple. We maintain this garden every year. In the garden, there are magnificent pine trees and some large trees. Obon is a busy time of year for temples as many supporters visit temples. However, if the garden is not maintained well and is messy,

the visitors may not feel good. Summer pruning will help garden owners get through this hot summer. It can help increase air circulation, which reduces pest problems.

Our pruning method is to cut as little as possible, leaving the plant in its natural state and not damaging it. If we prune hard, the plant will try to grow more branches. As a result, we will end up pruning hard again and again. Therefore, we don't recommend hard pruning just because the plants have grown a lot in the summer. We try to bring out the natural state of the plants and avoid choosing to use scissors as much as possible. If some customers request hard pruning, we will do so. But we will consider the best approach after identifying the plants and shrubs in your garden.
