Time to Say Goodbye

Hi, there.

The tips of tree branches are swelling up and getting ready to sprout out. I found the sharp lines of bare branches in winter beautiful, and I like it, yet I think that nothing can compare to the vivid green of fresh green leaves. I’m really looking forward to seeing them sprout in spring. Yesterday, there were snow flurries, and it’s still cold, but the season is steadily changing. All we can do is wait for the warm spring to arrive.

Demolition of Our Office

We’ve been undergoing a big cleaning for a long time, but demolition has finally begun.

The office that I’m familiar with and spent a lot of time in became completely empty.

The room, which now echoed well with my voice because of emptiness, became so bleak that I wondered if it had been so spacious. I’ve only been with the company for about five years, so I haven’t spent much time here. I can’t help, however, wondering how our chairman, who spent more time here, and other senior artisans are feeling.

While I was writing this blog and heard the noise of someone cleaning the office, I fully realized how easy it is to break something compared to the time and effort it takes to create something. Creating something that can be broken in a moment with the devotion of time and care may be one of the valuable things for the work of creating something.

Where I’m writing this blog right in the middle of demolition is the temporary office, and I’m working here quietly. The sun comes in well, and I can see what kind of birds come into the garden. We will be working here until the rainy season or summer. So, I will continue to work as usual while enjoying the garden view changes.

Some of you might have wondered what the title says “goodbye” to. The answer was to our office. We will continue to work hard on creating a garden until we can say “hello” to our new office when the seasons change.
