Stories We Tell -綴り-

Dressed in Cherry Blossom Colors

Written by Yukari Matsumoto | March 10, 2022

Hi,there.

“Saikau” has just passed, and flowers are starting to bloom one after another. “Saikau” means spring rain that hastens the blooming of flowers. The rain is a blessing for plants as it moistens dried soils during the winter. Plants that are changing every day in the garden always cheer me up. Also, I feel very encouraged by plants that grow at their own pace, whatever the weather is.

Toward Cherry Blossom Colors, Transition the Wardrobe into Spring

We make changes to the“Morino Yousei”outfit every season. And this season, it will be dressed in spring pink colors!

Planting flowers on the site is the challenging part, and also, the preparation is much harder than it looks. However, our work wouldn’t be complete without this simple work. It’s a thankless job but has an important role.

We prepared more bright-colored flowers compared to last time. The pink color is so bright and vivid. But even if they look deep in color when you are closer to them, sometimes they look lighter than you imagine when you are far from them. Since the “Morino Yousei” is a large sculpture with a total height of about 7 meters, it may look well with as vividly colored as they are.

Since we have done this job many times, we are getting used to doing each task and becoming efficient. Keeping a balance between efficiency and quality so as not to spoil the plants and still make them look beautiful is difficult. However, we will try to keep both skills.

The preparation makes it easier to keep flowers moist and makes the planting process done quicker. That explains well why we need the preparation and a lot of work behind the scenes. It is because any beautiful work wouldn’t be complete without those simple works.

Now, we will get back to work. If you happen to find this “Morino Yousei” around, please stop by!
