Hi, there.
A red plum blossom tree in the yard is starting to bloom. When they flower, we can tell that spring has come. It is often said that “the plum tree is the first tree to blossom,” and it is. They bloom ahead of many other kinds of flowers. When they bloom, I feel it is the beginning of spring and realize that the season has changed. However, it is still cold in Shiga, and it was snowing the other day. Please take good care of yourself.
The Competition is Coming Up Soon
We’ve shared our practice sessions over the past in our blog, titled"The path to Worldskills Shanghai" The training took place in the cold weather in Shiga. Last year, I thought that we still had more than one year until the competition, but it turned out that a month and a half has been passed already. COVID-19 is still raging worldwide, and training hasn’t gone as well as we would like under this situation. But we’d like to practice as much as we can and prepare for the upcoming competition.
We practiced woodworking this time, and this part requires more precision work than the woodworking we usually do. The instructor said that “It must be so difficult that garden artisans don’t need to be able to do this much.” Although both two artisans who will be participating in the competition worked on it so hard, it must have taken a lot of energy to finish it.
I’m sure that there was a lot of unfamiliar work. However, if they are able to do this woodworking according to the standard, the quality of the competition will be much higher, and then they will get the skills to compete in world competitions. I know that the training is hard for them, but I believe it’s important to help each other as much as we can and keep training better.
The day of the competition is getting closer and closer without stopping. We hope to support the two athletes so that they can practice to the best of their ability.
We will continue to share our training for the competition, so stay tuned!
