Maintaining Our Garden

Hi there.

Our garden is getting lively, as the maple trees and other trees have started leafing out. Since we are remodeling our office, I can't take much time to look around the garden. However, I can smell the fresh air in the early morning when I'm outside. Plants are sprouting one after another, following the maple tree. They must have endured the cold harsh winter and awaited a pleasant spring. I'm looking forward to seeing the greenery sparkling as it reflects spring sunshine.

A staff member is working on pruning a tall tree, carrying himself easily. We have too many plants in our garden to work on all at once, so we do little by little, one by one when we have time. Maintaining our garden on our own is the best way to learn about the aesthetic sense of the chairman who created it.

In order to learn the characteristics of our company, we need to take some time to look carefully at the garden that is close to us.

Passing on skills from one generation to another is an urgent task for us. Nowadays, the landscaping industry has been shrinking and aging, and it has become hard to keep up the skills. It would be good if we could create an education system for gardening skills as a company structure so that young artisans can receive detailed guidance and practice even in such a small amount of time.

I hope to create opportunities where we can demonstrate our skills so that the Japanese art of landscaping will not die out. There are still many things that we can share, such as handing down the techniques in terms of landscaping. We have many challenges, but I like to work so that young artisans, including myself, can grow in the process of creating gardens.
