Despite the title of this blog, it’s been colder than usual, with many snow days. I find myself shrugging my shoulders every morning on my way to work. If we listen carefully, we can hear the sound as ice freezes over and as the snow piles up. In the past, people described these quiet sounds as “the voice of ice” or “the voice of snow.” I’m impressed by those senses of listening to the voice of something with no shape.
“Morino Yousei” is heading toward Spring
We regularly take care of “Morino Yousei” (Anemonopsis macrophylla). This year, we will re-pot them for each season.
As preparation, we cleaned these heucheras.
Heuchera has lovely peach-colored foliage with a frilly shape. I can imagine Morino Yousei will look pretty as if they are wearing spring dresses and lace of heucheras.
Here, the staff is facing a tremendous number of seedlings.
This continuous handwork is the reason why we can create something beautiful. Not all work can be visible, but this kind of invisible work done behind can make the visible parts look beautiful. I hope to be an artisan who can take care of such preparation and behind-the-scenes work.
